What is the meaning of CFR in Medical category?

Case Fatality Rate — also known as Fatality Risk or Fatality Ratio — is the expressed as percentage of deaths caused by a disease compared to the total number of people diagnosed with the disease for a particular period. A CFR can only be considered final when all the cases have been resolved (either died or recovered).

It is common to confuse mortality rate with CFR, note that mortality rate is a measure of the number of deaths (in general, or due to a specific cause) in a population scaled to the size of that population per unit of time. A CFR, in contrast, is the number of dead among the number of diagnosed cases.
