What is the meaning of AATWIN in Organization, NGO category?
AATWIN is a national-level network of NGOs in Nepal, working against the human trafficking of Women and Children. It was established on 6th June 1997.
There are approximately 40 member organizations within AATWIN and it has established its own place in the global arena. Its major objectives are:
- To influence and support the law- and policy-makers to formulate, amend and implement laws and policies against human trafficking.
- To generate evidence on human trafficking to inform right holders and stakeholders.
- To strengthen the network and capacities of the civil society organizations working against human trafficking and on human rights, particularly women’s and children’s rights.
- To develop AATWIN as a national-level Resource Center against human trafficking.
- To build capabilities of AATWIN members and staff on the ever-changing scenarios of human trafficking.
